Nice, thanks for all the welcomes... yeah any info on the bar scene, and outdoor activities (once spring finally shows up) with the exception of last weekend that was nice but weird 72 in January?

It's funny to go from a place like Seattle where you know all the little ins and outs of the town, places to go, things to do etc... to Starting over so it's all new to me.... I don't know if you guys have meets very often or do any gtg's, so just let me know.

Thanks,
David.

p.s. if you are getting an elise this summer we should chat I almost got one, and decided against it b/c on the track it's the purest form of feel and control (simply amazing) but around town and on normal roads, yikes the car is just too raw, but in the right element that car is simply astounding... so best of luck!

The Crab Shell on Sunday night's in the summer is incredible. It's on the stamford waterfront. You can come with me. I'll break you in

Welcome.

Right on. Thanks, that'll work. I was also looking at places in SoNo and thought the area was cool but still needs more time to develop into something bigger.

the one street (washington?IIRC?) had all the cool bars & restaurants on it looked cool, but outside that 1-2 streets SoNo looked a bit sketch...

THe nice thing about being back east is everything is just a short drive so it doesn't have to be in STamford persay, and I'm game.

Luke is 100% correct. Crab Shell is great. My buddy used to bartend there. Stamford also has The Thirsty Turtle. I have been there a few time. You will see a bunch of little hotties running around. There is also Hula Hanks which caters more to collage kids but you wont feel out of place there.

SoNo has Washington St. There are a lot of good bars there. A really fun bar is Black Beer. Good bands, food, drinks are a little expensive. I was there last weekend. There is a good little bar off of Washington St call Oneal's that is a classic Irish bar and is fun when bands are playing.

The lotus won't be daily driven. Just want a fun car to take out on nice days and to have lots of fun with Auto-x.

Right on, I was @ Black bear for lunch over the holidays when I was scouting out the place (SoNo) and liked it as well.. good to know.

The lotus, hmmm such a fun DE car and sunny day car... I know you'll love it!

Thanks for the great info and keep em' coming. It's funny how you begin to realize how much you know about a place when you live there and then you leave which makes you understand how much there is to know about where you're headed....ahh but that's the fun part!

^^^ I agree 100% with Kevin. SoNo is cool, but honestly, you need to venture around so you don't get board.

Greenwich (South of you) has the avenue, has some really cool places. The Gingerman is great (it's moving to Fairfield Though) Just peanuts on the floor and 400 different beers. Bloo is cool, but I think I spelled it wrong (it might be Bleu or something) Thataways is great too as well as the Delamar hotel at the bottom of the Ave. Greenwich is very "uppity"

Stamford is more spread out, but there are tons of places. There is a Black Bear in stamford, but it's just ehhh (Go to the one in SoNo). Hula Hanks and The Turtle are where it's at. But the Crabshell reigns supreme.

SoNo, there is a bar for everyone there. Just go all of them and see what is you. You also have two of the best restaurants in the state there - Ocean Drive and Habana.

Fairfield, mostly college bars up here, but a great time none-the-less. $2 tuesdays' at the Skybox (sports bar) everything in the bar is $2 a drink. But we also have a lot of good restaurants up here. Bravo is a great time as well!

Milford (35mins North from you) is great in the summer like Stonebridge becaues everything is outside (very good on thursday nights) when it's warm. SBC and Citrus and Archie Moores are a must visit too.

Hope this helps.

Hey David welcome!!! I worked in Stamford for a while and can say downtown has gone a long way.

Some other places of interest that folks haven't chimed in yet was Coach's (A sports bar), SBC (A brewery) & Temple (nice watering hole) were some of my favorites. Crab Shell was my home away from home. I am trying to think there was another restaurant right beside it that was pretty good as well.

I also live in Milford and the summer scene is the shit! Outside bars at Stonebridge, SBC, and Archie Moores!

Well now I am an old fart with wife and kid so the party scene is basically Saturday nights with makers and cigar and calling my old buddies to relive the memories

David,
Hello again! Audi and Honda S2000 combination is always great. There are very good restaurantes in SoNo which are off the main drag. Dipasquale's and Mike's Ristorante (Nino the owner actually owns a turbo-ed '02 s2k which he is selling). Greenwich has Gaia for great food but not too many bars. Greenwich also has Miller Motorworks and almost every car manufacturer within a stone's throw away. Drop me a line when you get settled. Hiro

Welcome to New England. As a newer member, I can say you will not find a friendlier group of folks with plenty of meets and get togethers.
