Rear gears and yellow box installation??
I am very interested in buying 4.44 rear gears, and buying the yellow box to correct the speedo and the miles. I dont know any place where I can get them installed. If anyone has gotten those items installed in the area (Fairfield County, CT) or a 50 miles radius, please let me know where and how much it cost you. Thanks.

Well you can ride up with me to Worcester tomorrow to watch a pumpkin swap. It's 1/4 of the full job.
I will be giving my reivews on the 4.77 gearing once it is in my car. I don't think it will be a total cake walk but isn't out of our hands.
I am leaving my house at 7:00 from Milford please PM and we can chat.
You can ask Jenner where he got his installed. The shop has now done at least 2 diffs so far.
The Yellow box I can help you with. I just got to find the right wire and I can take it from there. Part of my clean up my car days next week.

This yellow box can re-calibrate this and make your speed read correctly(and your odo read correctly). If your anal you can even use it on an oem equiped car.

Not being a real car, or mechanical-oriented, person - what exactly does the difference in gearing do for you good/bad? I am guessing that the increase in gear ratio causes the engine to spool up in RPM's faster?

The gearing is like on your 10 speed bike and you switch from the big front sprocket at your feet to a smaller one. It takes more pedaling to get the same speed but you can put forth that much less effort to get going.
Same with our gearing. It basically the car is in 4th but the RPM's are near 3rd. So when you get down to 1st gear it gives you much more grunt and pull. Though YES it will decrease your max MPH in each gear because you are running a higher RPM in the same gear to keep the same speed.
I did 4.77's and WOAH!!! PULL!!!!!! You can actually take off in 2nd gear without totally bogging the car. Now I just need to get the yellow box installed properly.

Edit:
Box is now working. I go by the drop the zero shift pattern.
20mph shift to 2nd 30mph shift to 3rd and 40 shift to 4th. Unless your getting ON it.
THEN JUST USE THE OEM SHIFT LIGHT.
