Check your title. A simi car related thread?
I know how to pump gas, but I don't. We pay a few pennies more and buy gas from a local guy, and they pump it for us.

If I fill up local they pump it becuase we don't have self serve. ( volunteer fire dept, no full timers to respond to a fire).
otherwise, it's yours truly.

I know of one gas station in my area that still has attendants. Everytign else is self serve. I almost always pump my own.

I pump my own gas unless forced to do otherwise. It's mostly out of habit. I'm not even sure how the whole having someone else fill your tank thing is supposed to go. Do you tip them? How much? For me it's a lot easier to just pump my own gas since I'm familiar with how it works.
