For those who haven't tried Xbox/Xbox Live check this article out:

Some quotes:
"Since the introduction of Xbox Live less than 60 days ago, more than 250,000 starter kits have been sold -- double original sales expectations. The starter kit has been selling out in most locations in North America. According to data released by NPD Group Inc., in the first month of availability, Xbox Live Starter Kits outsold by 86 percent the number of PlayStation 2 Network Adapters Sony sold in its first month. Gamers have flocked to the world's first high-speed video gaming arena fully dedicated to online gaming, spending an average of 2.5 hours per day playing online."
"It's unbelievable. With Xbox Live I can play games and talk to my friends all across the country," said Xbox Live gamer Michael Aguirre, age 21, from Fresno, Calif. "It's an entirely new way to hang out. I can't imagine ever going back to playing alone. Even my mom has tried it!"

I may end up getting an Xbox in the future, sounds like it is really good from everyone I talk too. I really only play one game at a time though, until I get sick of it and buy another. This is probably because of the limited time I have to play. SOCOM is keeping me more than happy right now, but I may get either that NFL online game or an MLB one if it is out.
If anyone has SOCOM with the broadband adapter, let me know so we can set up a shootout.

<sigh> Merri MADE me get an XBox So here we are at the mall, looking at the PS2 and XBox...she wants the PS2 for GTA 3, and I'm leaning towards the XBox because the used ones are a better deal ($150 versus PS2 used for $185!!! I went with a new one anyway, but if the company is trying to get nearly full price from a USED one... ).
I end up picking out the XBox and a few used games for $15/piece. This is one of the most advanced game systems in production, and what does she buy? Namco collection #1, with Mr./Ms. PacMan, Pole Position I/II, Dig Dug, Galaga, and Galaxia.
<sigh> It's so depressing to see all of those compute cycles being used to simulate a barely 2-dimensional racing game
