Well, the time has come for me to give up my beloved S2000. Now that we have two kids, I need something with a back seat.
I bought it new in June 00, and have put on nearly 70K traveling back and forth to work in Cambridge from the NB area.
Max has seen my car (and worked on it) after a minor rear-end collision.
Testing the waters to see if anyone on the board is interested in making me an offer or has any idea what I might be able to expect to get for her.
Here are the details:
2000 Honda S2000 - Silverstone Metallic / Red
70,000 highway miles
Well maintained
7yr/100K Honda Care warranty
Front lip spoiler, Rick's Center Console cover (black), shift boot (red), headrests (black w/ red S2000), muz mat, and 3-piece floor mats, Denis' front screen. Also may include 1 set of stock floor mats and 5 extra stock rims/tires. 3 fronts, 2 back. Bridgestone Blizzaks mounted on 4, 2-front, 2-rear, the extra front was dropped on the face and is scratched.
Edmonds says retail is between $18000 and $21000 stock with my current mileage. Plus the extras....
Anyone interested?
What's the best way to sell my car if I need to do so within the next month?
-Mike

I think you might be expecting a bit too much with that many miles and the fact that its been in an accident. An 01 with less than half the miles with a clean record would be bringing in about 22k in the current season. It'll be hard off loading a summer car in the winter.

Well, that's why I said I was testing the waters. I don't think $18-19K is high with the extras I'm offering up.
And regarding the 'accident', my rear bumper cover and both rear tail lights were replaced. There was no other body damage. The cover was expertly repainted by Max's shop (aka SpeadFreak). It looks as good as new and shows no diminished value. I also had the front bumper cover replaced at the same time.
Max can speak for the quality and whether or not my car is worth less after the repairs were completed.

I only wish I could. I'm in a new career and took a 60% cut in pay so I can't afford to keep 3 cars...
I'd rather sell this car to an enthusiast who will take car of it, even if I have to accept less than I expect than trade it in to a dealer who won't give me anywhere near what the car is worth.
It's in excellent condition, never raced or abused. Only reason it was fixed is because I got tapped from behind in stop-n-go traffic on the way to work.

I'll give it a shot, try $15,000 to $17,000. I saw one in the paper recently with only 24,000 miles asking $21,000.
Also, try selling all the accessories in the for sale forum and then just sell your car stock. I am sure you will get more that way. People buying the car don't want to pay extra for a buch of stuff they didn't personally want. Someone local will want the extra wheels and snow tires, so you could start by posting all the extras for sale here.

Well, she's been traded in. If anyone happens by Bald Hill Subaru in Warwick, RI, please say Hi! to her and tell her I miss her.
The Dakota is fun though! Just in a different sort of way. The kind of fun you can have with a 4.7 liter V8 with 230 hp and close to 300 lb-ft of torque.
Truck was $19995 and I got it for my S plus $2500. Depending on how you slice it I got between $15495 and $17495 for her. I can live with that.
Now I'll have to go to a meet for a different reason - because I *don't* have a S2000...
Keep revving to 9K for me!
