Before everyone thinks that switching to the EMS might be a way to get better gas mileage I crunched some numbers to figure how long it would take for it to pay for itself and it was a really long time..... I'll post the numbers when I find them.

I crunched a little myself. At $3.00 a gallon for gas, 10,000 miles a year, and $5000 for a turbo setup... if I went from 28 mpg to 33 mpg, it'd pay for itself in just over 30 years

Thanks for the input. I actually get about 25-27 mpg and this is 50/50 city/highway driving. I dont push my car 100% of the time but I would have to say I rev it up pretty high at least once every time I am in the car - I dont expect that to make a major difference in the mpg though.

For some reason though, I used to get closer to 300 miles on a tank and now I'm only getting about 250. I havent really changed my driving style. Does humidity make a difference? I have moved recently to a more humid location and I am wondering if the air filter absorbs some humidity and that is affecting the mileage. Any thoughts?

Another thing....

The official specs say that the tank is 50 litres or 13.2 gallons. I have driven it down to zero bars left which would indicate I am on reserve and then filled up only about 11 gallons. Over 2 gallons reserve seem high don't you think?

Also, how often do you need to change a fuel filter?

Here is the futility of fuel economy mods .... It basically says, that if something costs $200 and you want to recover your cost in 10,000 miles, it had better give you an average of 5 mpg better than the stock S otherwise it's not worth it. That's about 30 mpg as the stock S is rated at 25 mpg on the highway.
