Poor Gas Mileage
Hi All,
I was just wondering how many miles you guys get on a full tank of gas. I usually put in premium (i.e.- 93-4 octane). I feel like my mileage has gone down significantly in the past few months and was wondering if any of you know what the problem might be. I just installed a new K&N filter and so the filter is definately not the problem. Any thoughts?

Whats your milage? What are the driving conditions?
Ive tracked my last 2 tanks and I got 26.5 and 25.9 mpg. Ive basically been driving fairly tame with an occasional hard acceleration to spice up my daily drive to work when its not raining.

I want to know how you are all getting 25 mpg...
Here in SD, I typically get 19 or 20 for normal driving (mixture of freeway and lights). What confuses me is that when we go out to the canyons for what I'm told is "very spirited" driving, I get about 23 mpg consistently. How is it that hard driving gets better mileage.
Another thing is that premium out here is only 91, but I have done some research there and the concensus is that while octane affects other things some, it affects gas mileage very little.

I rarely find myself in 6th gear. My commute is 23 miles each way, all country backroads. I consistently get 25-26 mpg. Lots of winding thru gears, I must have a dozen stop signs on my commute, I've found that taking it real easy, not winding it out at all and shifting rapidly into 6th has almost no effect on my mpg maybe I gain 1 or 2 extra mpg so way bother. This car wasn't meant to be driven for economy so why bother?

City driving really kills gas milage in S2000. In the 5 years that I own it, I average about 21-22 mpg on 50city/50highway driving. On roadtrips where I drive on highway alone, I get 29 mpg. Even on spirited driving in group drives where RPM is rarely below 4500 rpm, I got 24-25 mpg.

I get anywhere from 250 to just over 300 miles a tank in my car. I don't believe I've broken the 30mpg barrier yet, but when a lot of highway driving is mixed in, I come close.
