Default People who commute?

So, I'm off to the big city for my surgery on Monday. While I wanted a specific doctor to do my surgery, I've questioned my decision whenever I've had to drive to Boston. I've had appointments and it shoots just about the whole day, depending on appointment time, waiting for the doctor, commuter traffic, etc.

The other day I had a 9:30 appointment, left my house by 7:40, and arrived at the appointment with just enough time to hand the keys to a valet and hit the rest room

We need to allow two hours, for an hour's ride.

I guess I'm just a country bumpkin! How do you folks who commute deal with this kind of thing everyday? I know some take public transportation, but what a PIA!

My brother in law used to commute and he said the secret was to be in the city before 7:30 and head out by 4:00. Not always an option....

Bass you SURE you want to work in the big city?

I did this three years ago during the summer and I hated it.

I had to catch the 7:40 train so:

6:30 wake up
7:15 out the door
7:30 arrive at the train station

a whole hour to prepare just so I can make it to the train station so I can ride the train for another hour!!!

You got to do what you got to do...

I guess you indulge in other things to make up for it.

How's that train method working so far?

It's not only the driving, it's the wasted time........guess I'm just a spoiled princess with my 10-12 minute "commute."

I've had a 50 mile commute for the past 3.5 years. I got fed up and I'm moving in 8 days, 12 highway miles from work. Woohoo!! Might still seem far but 15 minutes >>>>>>>> 50 minutes.

Working from home would be good....or just not working at all, but only if you were a rich guy/gal.
