Yea I would love anything with the Mac OS X but right now I'll settle for Linux...anything UNIX-based...never again will I go back to Windows, can you guys believe the 25 letter key-code on XP? Supposedly for "security" reasons , more like PC-enslavement...

6-9 months before having to completely reinstall Windows is average, don't expect better with ANY version. This comes from years and years of experience on my part on both my own Windows machines as well as working in companies having several dozen Windows machines.
Win2K has been the best Windows OS I've used (still had to do a complete wipe after 6 months). I strongly warn to stay away from XP at this time, unless you don't care about the security of your personal information (financial, CC info, passwords, etc.). Oh, and I'd second that warning about speed, all the reviews I've read meantion a significant reduction in speed, and only they recommend using XP on a 1.2Ghz machine or higher.
All of my critical work is on MacOS so I don't have to worry about loosing it.

[B]Unless you're running actual server programs (i.e. MS SQL Server, Exchange, IIS, etc) then running Win2k Server or Advanced Server really won't do much for you. Any games and/or game servers you want to run will be just fine on Win2k Pro. If anything, I'd bet they run faster on Win2k Pro just because you've got less extraneous crap running by default than you would on Win2k Server or Advanced Server. And if you're planning on hosting a game on the same box that you'll be playing the game on, then I'd definitely go with Win2k Pro.
