October 5th Route Suggestions (Long)
I have travelled many of these roads on motorcycle wanderings playing with my GPS to find out of the way routes.
There are some tricky parts that may need attention if you end up with a large group (i'll try to give you heads up to the tricky parts). Walkie Talkie Radios are suggested/required IMHO.
This is a long route that will take the better part of all day to complete with a reasonable lunch break for BBQ.
Suggest you start 8 to 8:30 from Exit 3 route 93 in my hometown of Windham. There is a McDonalds Mobil on the Run right off the northbound exit.
OK here it goes... (I'll try to add distances later)
Rte 111 East
Left onto Island Pond Road
Right to 28 north
at rotary take 1st option on right (Hamstead Road)
Second blinking light turn Left onto 121
right onto 121a
left onto 111 east (you are now 1.5 miles from where you started!)
left onto 111a
left to 107 north
right on 102 to end
left onto 101 business
right onto 107 north again
right rte 4 east
left rte 107 north
right onto Rte 11 north
left after jughandle at lights end of hiway portion of 11
follow 11 toward Alton Bay (Note real nice senic overlook on the Lake along this road great for group pics!)
left 28a in downtown Alton Bay (everyones favorite road last time)
left 28 north toward Wolfeboro
right 109/28 in Wolfeboro Center
left 16 north
Lunch at BBQ Joint at intersection of 16 and 25
left out of parking lot onto 25
right 113a/113
right on rte 3
right on rte 175
right on rte 3 toward North Woodstock
For those that insist on the Kancamangus Hiway take 112 east toward North Conway (NOT RECOMMENDED)
turn left onto 112 west
left 118
left 25
104
4a/11 east
127 south
9/202 west
114 south toward Bedford
End of 114 is Rt 3/293 (to 93)
End of circuit.
Depending upon average speed this is 5 to 6 hours of curves, dips and fun.
I'll try to flesh this out over the next couple of weeks
At this time it looks like I can make it.
Going to uncramp my fingers......
By the way I have some real exciting Vermont routes for the S2k...

I love doing the 'notches' especially the road going past Mad River Glen, the entire road from 100 over the mountain is full of hairpins if you follow the road into New York it takes you to the Lake George area which has some cool roads around the lake.
The road over Mount Mansfield is loads o fun also, but is very narrow.
Of course route 100 is a blast as well as all of the 'letter' roads like 100a 100b etc.
I'll have to check the GPS on the bike and get you some more roads, we did 600 miles through Vermont/New York last weekend. I also have some real back roads that are paved that are a blast to spin through.

Marcel, I really hope you can make it but I still am hoping for Oct. 4. Sundays are hard for us during the school year.
BTW, whenever you find that you will be in the Lake George area you should let us know. If we are going to be there that weekend we would love to hook up and offer you a ride in our boat. (See avatar)
