So im trying out Firefox and have just installed Adblock plus - but i still have ads... What am i doing wrong?

Are you right clicking on the ads to add in the filter? I have had trouble getting things as I want them, but I did block the annoying facebook box!

So I download add block plus, save it to desk top, click on it and I get a message that my computer needs to find a program to open it. WTF? Cant fire fox open it? what do I need to get to open it?

I think Bass or one of the other computer gurus will have to guide you. I don't remember having difficulty getting it loaded and running, and it's in my tool bar with the icon, but it's been a while.

but here goes you gotta download it and load it directly in firefox not as a standalone .exe.

he's right it's an addon not an .exe file

download it with firefox and it should automatically run

open firefox
click tools
click add-ons

I'm a Chrome convert after being a dedicated Firefox user. Now that it supports extensions, it's very versatile.. and it's faster.
