Nor'Easter Update
To all interested people who are considering signing up for the Nor'Easter:
As of today's date, we have only 38 people registered for this event. This includes +1s. By our calculations, we need 75 people in order to hold this event as advertised. While we do not need to have all 75 as of today, we are concerned that we are only half way to our goal at this late date.
Because we have cancellation deadlines with our hotel and a non refundable deposit deadline with F1 Boston for the kart track, we are setting an event cancellation deadline date of June 2, 2008. If we do not have 65 people signed up at that point, we will have to cancel the event. Should that happen, we will, of course, refund the money paid by those who have already registered. Feel free to ask any questions here.

As much as I'd like to attend, in the summer I am limited to Sat night and Sunday events. Signing up just doesn't make sense for me. FI boston is fun - I'd join you guys there without doubt and possibly +1.

Thanks Ryan. I think there are many others in your boat. Either the schedules don;t allow it, or the funds are not available. I'm not sure what will happen if we cancel. We'll cross that bridge when we come to it.

Bill, do we need 75 people signed up for the whole event or just for the karting ?
I have to say that I am surprised. I figured the karting together with the other typical meet activities and a track day at the end would get all kinds of interest. But maybe the $$$ is too much.

Actually, it is for the banquet. The hotel has a minimum. The karting requires fewer total people, but we have a long way to go on that count too. Not all of the attendees have signed up for the kart event.

Plus a small part of each registration is for insurance. We used to get coverage under the S2ki policy, but that is no longer available.

Isn't the point of this event to get others from different places in the country to join us here in New England - and give them a taste of what the northeast has to offer? Otherwise this meet is just another meet for NE folk - IMO.

Bill, is there a way to do something to accomodate the people like ryan? Reduced rate?
