ahhh i think it would be a lot harder to sew than say a hem on a pair of slacks. you'd need a serious sewing machine and a super strong big needle (like those you see at auto upholstery shops.)
i know Billman in Metro NY has done a few plastic window swaps maybe he can help but he's always swamped with business

That's what happens when you put the top up in the first place. just leave it down!!! I go to work at 4:30 am with the top down, light gloves, med. weight jacket and hat.. I do cheat and put the windows up. My drive is about 25 miles , mostly at 50mph on deserted back roads.

Cut out the old one, runa bead of glue around the edge of the new one, and stick it on to the top from the inside. That probably won't work, but it is the kind of thing I'd try. In fact, I may just get a sheet of clear vinyl and try it with that.
