Call Scotty at Highland Auto Machine in Somerville, MA 617-666-1450.
He just did my small block chevy 383 stroker engine over. Sleaved the block, bored it .40 over, put in new rods, new forged crank, new forged pistons, welded the dents in the aluminum head, replaced three rocker arms, as couple of valves, new valve springs - with steel cups so the heads won't gall, complete three angle valve job, balanced it, all new ARP studs and bolts, forged aluminum main caps, line bored it, decked it, clevite race bearings, moly rings, etc. for $3,600. The motor will pull 500 hp before the 200 shot I plan to add.
Basically 5k worth of parts and labor for $3,600. Reason I gave you the details is that he will only do what is needed and he won't rip you off. Obviously he can do non-race engines also.
Worth a phone call,
Tell him Marcel referred you.
Good luck!

My motor has 100K+ on it.
Want to rip it apart and take it to a shop.
Have them do the machine work and I want to rebuilt it myself.
What you did Munch is a bit much.
But that does sound like a decent deal given what you had done.

Munch's guy is closer to you than my guy. My guy is Custom Automotive in Weymouth MA. Ask for Dana or Chopper.
