My eyes got bad fast...
I wear glasses and contacts. I usually go about 2 yrs between office visits to update my script even though they recommend yearly and I never hve trouble.
It seems like all of a sudden in the past two weeks, my glaases and contact just aren;t doing it. There was no real gradual deterioration I noticed, but now I get headaches and can;t see fine print that I used to.
I am just wondering if it usually happens this way or if somthing is wrong.

Could definately be something wrong. Are you diabetic? A sudden change is eyesight usually signals something else. Also your on meds right now that could be affecting you.

I thought quicker changes usually happens at 
age. Maybe it's the drugs?

Well, it started before the meds. Maybe I just ignored the signs of it going downhill for a while and compensated or something. As soon as I can get off my arse I am heading to the optometrist for a new script!!!

If I remember correctly I was 38 when all of a sudden I couldn't see the damn pins on the chips anymore. then it was reading, then finally it got so bad I couldn't read the newspaper on the can becuase laying it on the floor wasn't far enough away.

You may have deteriorated slowly but noticed it since it went past a certain point and became extremely noticeable. But highly recommend see the doc as soon as you can just to make sure nothing is wrong.
I too, wear contacts and glasses...have had bad eyes since I was about 8. The last time I had my eyes checked they actually had improved! I am now wearing a pair of sunglasses that are about 6 years old that weren't strong enough before but are pretty good now. Go figure that one out.
Oh yeah...I AM an old fart.....and proud of it.
I would, though, recommend getting your eyes checked every year....you only get one set.
