Then we bought the S2000, and found out one of the options included with the car was a social life. It's been a blast ever since.
I've now been the proud owner of my S for over four years now and have met a ton of great people thanks to this board. I've also travelled all over with her to meet even more people. All in all it's been a great experience. I will also say that the New England crowd is an awesome group of people!
Yes, that does include you Steve!

I voted, "Yes, and I've/we've had a blast, we'd like to meet more people this way." even though I wish there was an option for, "Yes, but I'm still a little apprehensive about meeting people from the internet". It was fun seeing Mark meet people from the club this weekend. I remember exactly how weird it was for me meeting a group of strange people from the internet for the first time just under a year ago.
When I met the group of s2ki people for the first time, I walked right into a vortex of strangeness and sat pretty quietly as I feared Thomas and Steve might get into a fistfight over a thread I read earlier where they seemed to disagree about antifreeze disposal procedures. I watched Jeff get a bevy of gifts for his birthday including a package of Land O

Wow! A few of you met your spouses on line. My niece met her husband from an online group.
Whatever happened to the good old days of meeting your spouse in a bar?

That's what it took to get her to walk down the isle

Erick's post has me thinking about our first meet with the group. This was a pair of firsts for us. One, meeting with internet people, and two attempting to socialize with people we had never met. The meet was a tech day at John's house. It was wrapping up by the time we were able to get there, but a few guys were still hanging around. Legal Bill waited a bit for us to introduce us and paved the way. I know we met Bass, and I think Scott, and several others, but it's a good thing there was not a test after. (It took a long while to remember who was who, but we are Vintage, you know.)
The gathering was mostly young guys, most of them our own son's age, or younger. , and we weren't sure we'd fit in. He$$, who wants to hang around with people their parents' age?
BUT, a few weeks later, Legal Bill arranged dinner and a short drive down the Cape. After a few people headed home, RJK led us though some of the backroads of Sandwich. We've been hooked ever since that enjoyable evening.
With this group, we have learned that no one cares how old you are, what you do for a living, where you live or even if you still drive an "S". As one of the guys over in Vintage often says "it's the car that brought us together, it's the people that keep us coming back."

Who would have thought that after that bizarre initiation I'd still be here?

Yep, i too met my fiancee from the internet.
Before her, ive met maybe dozens of women from online. Ive been meeting women from online since 2001. Matter of fact i think most of the women ive met in the last few years have been from online. Most were a great experience and i am still friends with some of them. I remember in summer of 02, i met and went out with 3 different women in the same week. I think all 3 were from the internet!
Boy, that was a great dating year. I think my friend counted 14 women i went out with that year I was a dogg
