Rick and I were talking on the way home last night. In our 25+ years together we had never joined anything, clubs or things of that nature, together or separately. We NEVER willinglingly attended a function where we only knew one or two people, never mind a whole bunch that we didn't know. We just weren't comfortable. And though I've been on line several years, we had never met anyone through the internet.

Then we bought the S2000, and found out one of the options included with the car was a social life. It's been a blast ever since.

How about you? Were you a "joiner"? Or did it take the car to move you along? Pun intended.

We give credit to Mark for coming out last night. We've all been the newbie(s) at once point. It gets a lot easier after the first time. (Kind of like skipping Church, if that applies).

I met my wife on the internet. And no I didnt 'order' her from a far away land either.

Ive met folks off the internet for awhile, gaming, dating (when I was single), assorted stuff. I think the 1st time I met someone off the net was close to 10 years ago.

But never such a social and overall great bunch like the S2K crowd.

yes with the s2k was how i first met people on via the net.. it was glenn, ben, dana, derrik, and a few others for a white knukled drive - i was hooked ever since

and sure, you do meet a lot of "different" folks too via the net - (yes thomas i mean you!! )

I too met my wife online. Who says evryone online is nuts... I've also been a subsciber in Edmunds, C&D and some musician forums. But as far as clubs go, s2ki is my one and only.

Ive met people offline, but some of them werent a good experience. One was absolutely horrific.

I just met a few guys from my saturn board last night. We went out nad had some drinks and talked about our cars. I think most of them were shocked when they found out I was a girl and the stuff that I know about my car. It was fun though.

Other than that I value my safety and my daughters especially so I try not to do thewhole online/offline thing.

Im going up to NJ to meet a coupon friend and if Steve behaves maybe him too.
