Laptop Wireless Connection Problems
Anyone know how to fix.... Data Frame Errors - Check WEP Settings
I did something to my laptop... and I have no idea how to fix this.
I re-loaded the software for my network card in my laptop... and I can't connect to my wireless router anymore.
Help Please!

using the software that came with the card, are you seeing the available wireless networks?
do you have WEP (wireless encyrption protocol) enabled?

Maybe this will help... then again... maybe it won't...
Under Wireless Network Connection Properties
There are two sub sections in this Tab.
Available networks and Preferred networks.
In Available networks it lists my network "XYZ" and NOT WEP is enabled.
In Prefered networks... "XYZ" is also there and WEP is enabled.
When I go to enable WEP in Available networks... an error screen pops up...
Huh?!?!?

The access point network "XYZ" is already configured.
Please change either the network name or the network type before adding this entry to the preferred list.

First - try and re-enter your WEP password. If that doesn't work then:
1. Delete the current setup
2. Add the wireless setup to available networks
3. Re-enter the WEP
Or - get a Mac and never have to deal with that kind of cr@p again

1. If I knew what the password was
2. I'm going to reinstall everything... If I can remember how!
3. Mac? Nah... I'm stubborn

The same thing just happened to my XP Pro laptop. All I needed to do was re-enter the WEP password. heh heh... I guess without the password you're SOL.
The re-install should do it.
