Kenta ... if there is enough hanger sticking out of the boot , I would pin it ...

Find a washer with the same in as the hanger . Drill a small hole in the hanger ,a dd washer and use a cotter pin in the hole ..

When you installed it what did you use to lube the hangers .. NO silicone spray .. two reasons .. it breaks down the rubber and always stays lubricated so stuff falls off .I use plain old window cleaner . Works perfect as a lube and dries up after . I use Windex to run wires through boots , door jams etc .. and to do the silicon boots on intercooler piping ..

datruckie: good to know this seems "normal"

Twistid: Hmm... is it fairly easy to drill a small hole through SS? I'm guessing I'd have to take it off, clamp it in a vice then drill very carefully.

I just used soapy water when I reinstalled them. With all the rain we had in the last month I figure it should have washed out. But like I said if the thing was a tad longer it wouldn't eventually work it's way off. I bet if it were say 1/2" longer this would never happen.

all depends on the tools you have .. I work with SS all the time . A good bit and cutting oil will go through it like butter .. also keep the speed down on the drill .

I would do it on the car if there is room .

Another solution....and perhaps easier if there is enough hanger is to thread the outside for a bolt/washer combo.
