Yup, I bought a convertible because I like the top down driving. Although if we're going through a heat wave again I'm throwing it back on. I'm not hard-core-hardtop like some people here but I have to admit that I like the look of the car with the HT much more than without it.

So the install. After jacking up the car I slide under there and hit the bolts & nuts with Liquid Wrench. They're on there pretty good, well likely about 6 years
And then I came back an hour later and hit it again. Figured I would try to move those bolts with my biggest ratchet. No luck.
It was time to break out the new tool! Corded DeWalt electric impact. I'd been debating getting one since Twiztd's post about the awesome Snap-On cordless, however as awesome as the Snap-On is, it's also about 300+ dollars more expensive. I chose to save the money and go corded and it still delivers a respectable 345 ft/lbs and 2700 impacts/min, never runs out of juice, and I don't need a compressor. Absolutely the best automotive tool purchase I've ever made. I wish I had one 10 years ago!
First two bolts are easy peasy but the last bolt is up closer to the body of the car. So... how to deal with that bolt:
Impact U-Joint attachment FTW! :
Again, having the right tools made this a heck of a lot easier. All three bolts came off in about 2 minutes and that's only because it took a few seconds to switch over to the U-joint attachment. Not having a lift really sucks, but big thanks to my bro for taking pics and helping. The extra set of hands is appreciated as sliding in and out from under the car isn't really fun.
More pics to make Mark's modem go chug chug chug...
One of the pieces must have wacked the passenger side can in shipping. Not a big deal since the only people who are going to see this would have to be under the car and you don't want the view from there when the car isn't on jackstands:
And again... the final result :

Actually, I took the plunge and bought a Verizon wireless air card for my
laptop. The speed is definitely better than dialup but I'm not all that pleased
with it.
Yesterday it disconnected on me 4 times and I find downloads hanging quite
a bit and I have to hit reload to get it to work.
Plus they claim you should get up to 1.4mb/s downloads and the highest
spike I've seen in 2 days is 886kb/s.
Not exactly what I was hoping for at the cost of $60 a month but I have 30
days to decide if I want to keep it.
