Default July 7 & 8 - S2000s at Watkins Glen International with SCDA - DEADLINE EXTENDED

5/6/2014 UPDATE: SCDA has extended the offer to S2000 owners until June 1st. Let me know if you are in by 7 PM on June 1st. Payment is still due to me by June 10th.

Been communicating with SCDA. They liked the response they got last year from all of us, and I was surprised when Ian said he is willing to extend this discount to us until June 1st. So if you are on the fence, you know you have time until June 1st to register.

I will hold off taking payment from you until then. Once I get the invoice on June 2nd, I will send it via email to everyone that has confirmed and then expect to receive payment before June 10th.

Please click this link to see the Sign-up thread in Upstate.

I wanted to extend an invite to you folks in case you wanted to experience Watkins Glen with SCDA. This is the second year that we are trying to get a group together to sign up. We need a minimum of five to get the discount and as was the case last year, the more the merrier. We got to meet Mike (NoDelta) last year, and hopefully he comes back this year and also gets some of you to come too.

SCDA is offering a discount of 10% to S2000 owners (for S2000's on track only) for both Two and Single Days. You can sign up for either the 7th or 8th or like most of us do both days. Please headover to Upstate and post up if you are interested. If you have any questions, feel free to PM me or post here.

No, see the picture from last year. The last two cars are stock S2000s with tops up - and I'm running stock again (no roll bar) this year.

Maybe, but not likely.

When I went to Watkins Glen in 2011 (?) I was running top down. Track officials called to SCDA and I was black flagged for sitting too tall. Photos show me about two inches above roll hoops. SCDA had me adjust my seat, and put the top up. That's how I've run ever since. But I do move the seat forward and recline it before going to tech just in case. But so far, it has never been an issue at tech. So put you helmet on and get in the car. If you can fit, you should be able to run. Actually, having the seat a little closer makes it easier for me to heal and toe, with my knee bent a bit.

If some of you have safety concerns about the S2000 in stock trim, I suggest you also contact SCDA directly about their policy related to S2000's. I have a hardtop but stock roll hoops on the inside. Last year 9 S2000s (out of 11) at the event were stock. Two among that group had hardtops with stock roll hoops.
