Default Iraq war thread!

Just in case you weren't following

Maybe we are getting to the point where we have too many people for our infrastructure to support. Maybe the answer is that the hurdles should be toughened or the gates closed and we start taking car of ourselves before worrying about other country's problems.

Like Iraq?

Nope, I see Iraq as our problem because of terrorism and the need for stability in that region.

Again, this topic was started for discussion of illegal imigration reform, not the Iraq war. Please feel free to start yet another topic on that and we will all join in. I promise not to bring imigration reform into the Iraq thread thumbsup.gif
Rex you can't have it both ways. Either you want to pay attention at home, or spend billions of dollars overseas.

Hey Rex. How many of the 9/11 hijackers were from Iraq?

Very simplistic view Dlaio.

It is limited sight like that which causes laxes in security and stops the prevention of further disasters. I submit that the next wave of attacks may well be carried out by US born citizens recruited by the terrorists. Should we now only look at the nationalities that were on board those flights?

Relying on what is obvious is no way to run national security.

And, I can (and we must) have it both ways. We can secure our own borders from an influx of illegals while still protecting our interests abroad.

ok iraq war

weapons of mass destruction check
greeted as liberators check
we might be there a couple of weeks check
saddam hussien is a bad man check
iraq is responsible for 9/11 check
the oil revenues will pay for the war check
we need to establish democracy? maybe

what else am I missing?
oh yeah 4,000 dead and 29000 injured.
20 billion a month to keep this travesty going.
we've now destabilized the region and enabled shiia extremists to gain a foothold.

is the world any safer now than before the war. no
of course we are now paying 3.50 a gallon and crude is selling for 100 bucks a barrel.

now if i were exxon sitting on a huge reserve, i'm fricking delighted, becuase without doing a damn thing my assets just tripled in value.
thanks you George or should I say dick.

no he was a prick but he did provide stability to the region.
after a thousand years of conflict, he had that going for him.

the common misconception about Iraq/Hussein was that he was associated with Al Queda/9/11 when in fact even our own 9/11 commission found no ties between the two.

so if Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11 why did we go there for?

for WMD's?? - none was ever found
to liberate Iraq from miserable dictator? - when did we become liberators and why Iraq instead of N. Korea or pretty much most of Africa?

funny remember the "he tried to kill my dad" turns out to be more "bad intelligence"

Saddam was NOT a threat. Bin Ladden is

also the UN just stated that this war was a BIG mistake - we lost what little credibility we had with the world
