Interesting find on my budget
Was just doing the end of the year budgeting and getting finances and paperwork ready for tax time when I noticed the increase of gas expenditures from one year to the next.
In 2008 I spent about $3000 in gas, in 2007 I spent about $2000. Man this was the 2nd highest expenditure after household expenses.
Oh if you think I am a finance geek or something, not really. I have been using Microsoft Money for years so I can get nice reports done up that I can use for TurboTax time.

well durr gas was over $4.00 a gallon this summer
heck wasn't you that wanted gas at $8.00 a gallon so you could drive to Newport with less traffic
you should see a significant drop in 09

Gee, I think we discussed this along the way and what those extra costs were doing to people, especially those who had to commute.

I have been using Quicken to track my income/exp since start of college - I watch every dime and reconcile everything. The reports esp. come in handy when time comes to find exemption in filing tax return.

I think I spent more on mods than I did on gas.

I don't track our expenses the way some of you do. We tried to cut wayyyy back on gas use last year, although Rick started his 30 minute commute, due to that we likely used more on a weekly basis as a necessity. Trips in the S were no where as frequent as in years gone by. I miss some of the craziness that went with all the roadtrips we did in 2006 and 2007.

I put on about 10k and with ~24mpg and an estimated gas price of $3.50 that puts me at $1500 in the S2000 alone. Worth every penny and as with Kenta that's much less than what went into the car aftermarket wise
