Still got "sticker shock" over our MA insurace rates, Rick?

They talk all the time about insurance reform. I'm not holding my breath.

I have to say I'm not 100% convinced unregulated insurance would mean lower rates. I lived in Rhode Island for a couple years recently and their insurance industry is unregulated. Yet my insurance costs went up 50% when I moved there and I received quotes that were over a 100% increase over what I was paying in MA. Also, the insurance companies are perpetually whining that rates should be higher and many insurance co.'s don't do business in MA because they claim they can't make a profit. Based on this, I'm thinking that rates are in fact artificially depressed. I mean this is one of the biggest urban areas in the US. So, there are more cars->more car accidents->more car theft

Those who live outside bigger cities and have good driving records will benefit the most from this legislation. People who live in urban areas and have would be hit hardest. Thats why Mumbles Menino is against it, his people whould pay more.
So depending on where you live, and what kind of driver you are would determine if you want this... I live in the sticks and am a step 9 so yea, Id like it to pass.

I see it as thievery no matter where you live!

I am a step 10 and live in the city. But there ought to be competition between insurance companies. They ought to be allowed to compete with rates for our buisness.
