Insurance-How much?

We are in the same price range as Marty/Jazzman. A "tad" over 21, married, good driving records. No senior discount yet, but it's coming.

it all depends on the coverage too folks.
if you own a house etc, you may decide to bump that to 500K on the liability side.
needless to say, a lot of the price depends on what you actually bought for coverage.
so we older drivers are not only getting a much better rate, but we're probably buying a lot more insurance.
i.e. my S2000 is a fourth car, low mileage/year bundled with homeowners etc. $450/year.
If you buy automobile insurance in the state of Massachusetts, your policy must include minimum liability coverage of:
$20,000 bodily injury coverage per person injured in any one accident,
$40,000 bodily injury for all persons injured in any one accident,
$5,000 for property damage,
and
Personal injury protection (PIP) which, covers up to $8,000 in medical and work loss expenses, without regard to fault.

I think location is a huge part of the price. The risk of driving in a big city and all the other city risks (theft, hit & runs, fire, etc.) drive the price up considerably.
I used to live in worcester and moved a half mile away and saw my insurance drop by one third or more.
good luck,

It was a very stressful time for them. In court, she was found responsible for the injuries the other operator sustained in the accident, however, the guy also claimed rotator cuff injury, lost wages, the whole bit, and the jury saw through that.
She was not cited in the accident, does not remember the accident, due to a concussion. She was driving in her own neighborhood. We suspect the other guy was driving fast, she didn't see him, or she just misjudged how fast he was going when she pulled out. It's why these things are called accidents. We are thankful it was not worse, in more serious injuries to her or the other operator and that the jurors saw through someone trying to work the system.
Buy sufficient coverages, folks. Even if you don't own property, you could be left holding the tab for a BIG bill, in the event of an accident.

State minimum coverage in most states is only adequate for those who are comfortable giving up everything they have and starting over on the street with just the clothes on their backs, IMHO. There was a time when being put out with just the clothes on my back would not have meant losing much; as I get older and acquire more I'm less willing to risk having to start over.
With car prices what they are today, being found responsible for totaling even one auto could easily be a $50k + judgment.
We opted for a "liability umbrella policy" that takes the liability limits for our auto and homeowners to $1M. If someone wants more than that, I guess I'll just have to spend the rest of my days in prison.
