Default How's your basement?

Just came in from an appointment. The roads are a mess. HUGE puddles, some flooding, but not bad compared to some areas.

A few puddles in the basement, the sump pump is working OT.

Our son has discovered a basement window needs work....he's got water coming in. Hopefully, this will end soon.

How is everyone doing with this nasty weather?

Somewhat dry, thankfully we live on a hill. But the rebar at the base of the concrete does dribble in water so I have some work to do to fix the problem once and for all.

My new apartment is at the bottom of a giant hill. Last night it seemed like my sump pump was going off every 5 minutes. Im hoping I don't walk into inches of water in my new mancave.

Oh man, Barbara says we have a pond and a stream in our back yard now. I have two sump pumps that have been going strong for over a week. One of them is making a little more noise than usual I have two back-up pumps in the basement and I may swap one of them into service before I suffer a failure. This better stop soon, I'm running out of land.

If the stores still have any, you can get a puddle sucker and at least keep the water to less than a 1/16th of an inch. Better than letting all your stuff get wet.

I think the back up pump is a good idea. We may want to keep one on our shelf!

Our pump kicks on every 15-20 minutes. We pump out into the street, as do our neighbors. We want to keep the water away from house/yard due to septic system. It's relatively new, but don't want to take a chance.

They have evacuated people in Lakeville, Fall River, Somerset. Road buckled in Fall River. I was there this AM and saw a DEM truck go by with sirens blaring...guess that's where he was heading.
