Default Honda power equipment

I will not buy another Honda powered tool. The Honda engine on my pressure washer is very fussy. I'll take a briggs engine anyday. All you guys who recommended Honda powered equipment were wrong!!! That is all.

Typical fanboi. Sure, you could blame me. If I did everything the manual said to do, it probably would not have starting problems. But all the maintenance required is because the Honda engine is finicky.

First time it was the spark plug. Even after cleaning the plug, it didn't run right. Plug had to be replaced after three hours of operation. This time, it was the gas. If the gas is not very fresh, the engine will not run. I had to drain the gas and then remove and clean the carb and then it started. I put the gas I drained out of the Honda into my old Briggs lawn mower and it started right up. The Honda manual says to always use fresh gas and to drain the tank if the unit is not going to be used frequently. I'm guessing the engine has higher compression than the typical briggs engine and probably makes more power for the same displacement. Who cares?? I'm not trying to race my pressure washer, just clean my deck. I'd rather have a low maintenance, easy starting engine than a "high performance" finicky engine on my poer equipment. I have briggs powered equipment that is 25 years old and it still starts up. Six month old gas is not a problem at all.

I was just busting 'em bill.

I can honestly say mine has never received any special attention.
I've never drained the gas.
I may have changed the oil but I couldn't testify to that in court.
never pulled the plug.
Always starts on first pull unless it had pressure in the water line already.
I'd guess the carb setup on yours might be off.

Honda offers a higher quality motor on their branded merchandise. Honda Power Equipment does not make a power washer, only mowers, generators, water pumps, and trimmers. Your experience with this washer should affect your opinion of HPE.

So if I pay even more of a premium it will be ok? Why bother? For half the price, briggs powered equipment has always treated me fine. My lawn mower is 25 years old. I bought it new at caldors in weymouth. The metal deck of the mower is cracked and rusted through, but the engine keeps on running. I've changed the plug and oil twice. I only drained the gas when it sat for three years before I brought it down the cape. I just don't see the benefit to the much higher priced Honda equipment.
