I'm planning on taking my wife on a nice scenic road trip in the spring as a last vacation before our child is born in August and was thinking of driving up through New England.

When does Spring firmly entrench itself up there? (Trees with leaves, flowers out, etc.)

Also, any routes to suggest? Thanks!

You will probably want to take a drive up towards the middle of May to catch the greenery around here. Keep us posted when you get closer to firming up your plans as I am sure we can arrange a meet with you on one day of your road trip and go for a nice scenic drive somewhere. The New England group tends to meet at least once a week in the good weather and we would love to have you join us for what has always been a fun time with a great group of people.

If you are coming from VA you might want to consider coming up through Upstate and then swinging into New England. Going through the Catskill Mountains and Hudson River Valley could add a whole dimension to your outing. And I agree with HopkintonMA, mid May could be great. Sometimes the first part of May is wonderful but the middle to the end of the month is more of a sure thing. Enjoy and if you swing through Upstate let us know!
