Help Asap Removing Lug
#11
Try steve method first . It does work better if you have a impact gun. Does not work well with a breaker bar unless you can pound the crap out of the socket so it does not slip .
The tool the garage uses is a wheel lock removal tool and inside the cone there is a diamond coating that grips the lug .

Thanks all. I ended up using Steve's method and smashing a socket on. I had to grind down a bit of the inside of the socket, whatever it's off.
To throw some extra salt on the wound, my jack needs oil. It took me something like 15-20 pumps to get my car up. Well off the Sears tomorrow for a new socket and some lube

Gotta love Craftsman, wasn't even considering it but I went in to replace the 3/4" socket smashed one and the salesman gave me a new one with fancy laser etched numbers. He only asked what was stuck in the old one.

Just for future reference. Going to pick me up a set.

Almost all of my tools are Craftsman. In fact the 3/8" ratchet and sockets are from my 1st tool set given to me back in the mid to late '70's...
Glan to know you got your nuts off.
