Default Heads up: Pep Boys deal on Mobile 1

Ran into PepBoys the other day and they're doing a special. 5 Quarts of Mobil 1 full synthetic + Mobil 1 Filter for $30. No rebates or coupons required. Now that I think about it I might go back and get 5 more quarts and use the other filter on my Honda Element (with regular dino oil).

Walmart usually sells the mobil 1 gallons for around $25 as an everyday price so you can get a mobil 1 oil change with filter there for "around" 30 bucks too.

the single quarts are easier to pour though so pepboys wins by a hair! lol

what type of filter do you get with this deal? purolater?

1 Gallon = 4 quarts. So you're getting 1 more quart in this deal and the filter is Mobil 1 branded one, so at least it's not like a no name brand.

Yea, I always get a 5 Qt Jug and a 1 qt bottle at Walmart. (24.99 for the 5 qt and 7.50 for single.) The Walmart I go to doesn't sell Mobil 1 filters so I buy them at autozone for 13 dollars. -_-

I would say that about say... fram and other filters which have been proven to be crap, but from what I can tell the Mobil 1 is a decent filter. Synthetic filter material, comparable number of pleats, antirubber drainback valve. It works.

not sure if they make the 5qt anymore? Be careful, a lot of "deals" out there sell the 1 gallon, which coincidently enough looks like the old 5 qt jug.
