Yup.

Campaign assistant manager for a local pol.
Held signs for another.
Went door to door handing out leaflets.
Bumper stickers for sure.
Contributed $ aplenty.

To be honest, when I see people holding signs and telling me what they think I should do I usually end up thinking mostly "get a job."
That's just what they are trying to do.

I've had signs at my house for local elections.
2 years worked the polling station. (Talk about a long day)

Darn. That's where I've gone wrong. I'm not holding up signs or giving away money.

Hey, Bill... get a job.

Lainey, agreed on the distraction factor.

re: local politicians, I think that's a different animal. I've known a few folks who have run for office, and I like to help them out in any way I can. Still, you won't find me carrying placards.

You could get a job holding a sign, and then give away the money...

Personally, I don't want any stickers on my car, and I live in a condo, so I don't think it's fair use of common property to post a sign on the lawn. I've never cared to volunteer for anyone's campaign (would definitely consider it for town politics, but not much else) but never worked the polls.

The Republicans were in control for so long, I'm NOT better off than I was 10 years ago. I have no money left to give to political candidates. We spend it all on increasing health insurance costs.
