the s2k has held it's value pretty well in the last ten years

ie you are you are paying 40% of the orig sell price from 8 years ago (ie28k new)

but who knows what will happen to the market when you are ready to sell
Around here in 2001, new ones weren't selling for $28k. I bought mine used because the new '02 I test drove had $5,000 in Additional Dealer Profit added to the sticker. When I started to talk about price, the salesman just said, "Someone will pay that." I kept his business card with the intention of returning in February to see if people were still paying that. Sticker price was a good deal back then. I bought mine with 3k miles used in November, '01.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. After getting more details about the car I discover that there was substandard body work done on the rear quarter panel which had been replaced and now the paint is delaminating. There are other issues as well so I'll move on...

The original invoice for my S, purchased December 1999, was for $38k EVEN OTD. I bought it 7890 miles later for less than half

Default Wow. The sentiment has changed

I was just browsing the forum as a new s2k owner. Wow the market and the market sentiment surely has changed. I just paid 27k for a 30k mileage s2k and I thought I got a fair price. But man reading this thread makes me think otherwise.

Haha this is great! The swing started just a few years after this.

I bought my 2000 with around 20k on it almost 9 years ago to the day, and it was $16500, now with 48k its worth almost double, at least from what I am seeing on the market
