Proportionally speaking, those of you who smoke use health insurance benefits more than those of us who don't smoke, and it increases the cost of our insurance, keeping you alive on the iron lungs, respirators, and the like.
BTW, your plan sux! You must help the poor by paying more for your smokes. Don't wanna pay more, time to quit!

"Isn't that something - to say that I'm excited about a tax increase? But I am," said Dr. Richard Daines, the New York health commissioner. "This is a public health victory. We know one of the really effective tools to get people off of their nicotine addiction is to the raise the price."

- distilled liquor
- gas
- property tax increases
- milk

The choices are endless, we are talking about our politicians here, and it's naive to think this is a party issue, this has squat to do with republicans or democrats.
