Thumbs up Is face book lame?

I'm on facebook, but I think it's kind of lame. I have no interest in being "found" by long lost friends, so much so that I don't even use my real name.

I don't take any of the tests/quizzes, don't use any of the applications, just don't see the point. I spend enough time on the internet already. I don't think anyone cares that I'm glad it's Friday or what I spend my day/evening doing. That kind of discussion can be done here where people really care.

Someone around here talked me into getting on facebook and I hardly ever see him there. He must be busy being a CO or something.....

So it is lame?

I voted as "I don't know"

I joined a few months ago after being constantly harassed (over a year) to join it by a friend. I don't really care to be found by long lost friends either. I find it as more of a tool for me to keep up with the ones I have now - most of which are already members of s2ki & are not so active on the the boards. My wife has been on it for years.

Some good points, it has come in handy at times, and my settings are such that only my "friends" can see my pics and posts....

As far as the applications/quizzes. The "What kind of lover are you" kind of cracked me up.

If I want to know that, I think I'd best ask my +1. I see no need to put that on facebook.

Sorry Bass I know how you feel when Vintage people talk about that stuff.

I think it is great for families to share pics and such. My family is spread out all over the country. So it is nice to hear from them. It is easier to posta event. I also like how I can't take a pic with my phone and have it instantly go to facebook for people to see. It is all in how you use it.

My niece in NC does use it as well and it is a good place for her to share pics without having to email everyone. It certainly has it's uses, but I guess I'm just not into it.

This forum is enough internet for me.

as Scott said, it's great for sharing photos with family. rather than me sending pics of our baby out to everyone, we just post the pics on facebook and they can take a look in their own time. friends too.
