Default End of the season

Sports cars and boats both face the same problem in Massachusetts. Changing seasons means cold weather comes around and eventually you realize that top down driving and flying across the ocean are soon coming to an end. With the S2000, the end is a matter of your personal tolerance for cold. With the boat, you have a combination of cold weather and "accumulated unperformed maintenance" that signals the end. This weekend, I experienced three different failures of systems on the boat. Fortunately, with twin engines, you can usually get home ok after a mechanical problem. And fortunately, I made it home fine. Today I am doing some of the maintenance and trying to decide if the end of the season is here, or if I should patch her up and try and get another couple of trips out of her. Some of the problems are quite small. One I think I can work around for a bit. But damn, it is getting cold out there.

What is your guess on the weather? Any nice warm days left this year?

Judging by how much grass I had to mow yesterday, I'd expect another few weeks of ok weather.

I don't put the car away, just don't drive it if the roads are not clear. I will probably continue to drive top down for another month - with the heater on, windows up and seat warmers on. :-)

well, there's warm and then there is still warm out on the water and they are two very different things.

I kind of like some of the cooler days with the top down and the heat cranked up.

for a few more warm days, though warm enough to be on the water? I guess that depends on how much you like fishing. Hope the boat situation gets resolved quickly.

Top down in the S is still OK for a while. Generally the car is out until late October, early November.

We eeked out another top down drive today. I had bookmarked some local car shows and we headed to one in North Attleboro at a plant/garden shop. Pretty

We saw something you might want to consider for the Healey.......hang on I'll start a thread so folks can chime in.....

I hope to have 2 weeks left of decent weather on the water. I have to haul mine out by Nov 1st.

My boats are still in. I fixed the broken prop today and secured the bolsters thatwere coming off. I found a few more loose fasteners and tightened.replaced them. I may take the little boat out today or later in the week.
