Smile EF U...

Guy who cuts into my lane with no signal.

Person who pulls out of a side street 10 feet before I get to the intersection, just to drive 10 mph under the speed limit in front of me for the next 10 miles.

Woman who won't slow down to let me back out of my parking space, but then stops behind my car to look at the stores.

Kid wearing all black riding his bike in the middle of a dark street.

Old man who pulls into my side of the road to go around a parked car on his side of the road... and then yells "slow down" at me!!!

SUV behind me in the right lane who speeds up to try and block me when I turn on my signal so I can exit the highway.

Garmin, who wants me to drive my S down dean end streets, dirt roads and peoples' back yards.

Honda, who designed my convertible top so that water pours into the car when I lower my window in the rain.

How was your day?

bill,
sounds like your got sand in your shorts at the beach and decided to drive home in traffic without changing.

yeah that kind of chafe.....

but yeah I've had that kind of day at times.
my personal 'favorite' is the A-hole handoff.
you know when one jerk does the run the stop sign to get in front of you and drive slow but then when he finally is going to turn left he stop to let somebody else in front off you who goes even slower.
that second guy decides to pay it forward and let every car in the road have the right of way in front of him.

Hmm, I've been considering a GPS but have been hearing some stories
similar to what you have said here, Bill.

No point in spending $$$$ on something that will get me more lost than if I
just mapquest'ed and printed the directions.

It's like buying a snowblower that blows the snow BACK onto your driveway
or buying a thermometer that tells you it's 20 below zero in July.

I'll tell you Mark, it's a funny thing. 99% of the time, the thing is great. But occasionally it wants to send you down an impassable road. Clearly the Garmin people load in maps in their entirety and don't take out the "paper" roads, the dort roads, or the dead ends that look like through roads. There are times you can even damage your car. I ended up on a nasty logging road in PA and was bottoming out and praying I didn't slide sideway into a ditch. "Don't worry Barbara, these cars stick like glue. I'm sure we won't slide off this 45 degree slope into that ditch."

Yeah, it's like they all got together and planned it out or something.

Yikes, Bill...well until I hear something to the effect that they are working
100% reliably, I'll stick with the mapquest and printing method.
