Because the car was more suited for grip. While you can short drift a S2k. You cant transition well to be competitive without modding the suspension and steering for more angle.

There are S2k that drift but the driving dynamics in a stock car make drifting difficult. The electric steering does not provide enough feedback to allow drifting at a high level combine that with a short wheel base giving a knife edge feel and it gets even harder. Most drift S2ks you see have been modified with an RX7 style manual rack to provided the needed feedback plus additional changes to steering geometry to allow for more wheel lock. The wheel base still makes it difficult to control but with improved feedback and a skilled driver it can be done.

I know there are . I am friends with Alex Pfeiffer and Steph P.
Like I said they are modded, they are not street driven. The S was designed to grip and not slide. If you have a friend with a 350Z or 240. Go to a big lot and slide each one. You will see the Z and 240 are very forgiving. The S2k no so much.
The EPS and feedback are not a issue. The issue is speed sensitive steering and angle. I can mod knuckles for more angle.
Have you auto-x'd your car yet ? if not you should come up to NHMS to one of out SCCNH events. I am a instructor and you can find the limit of your S2k. and see how it reacts
