That sucks... mine was used, but Citi's "Fraud Protection" services or whatever they're calling themselves these days called me to ask if I was in Florida (which I wasn't). There's kind of nothing you can do short of cancelling the card and filing a claim with the CC company. They'll likely send you a form, which you then have to sign and get notarized saying that you didn'tt make those charges. Then you're out the time and money for the notarization. Just a big pain in the butt.

I thought the same thing about the jerks who used my card for gas and then a Macy's... my guess is they went to the service counter and got AMEX Traveler's checks. It's too bad our law enforcement gets tied up in petty domestic disturbances and handing out speeding tickets

Someone hecked my card once and joined an online dating service.

I called the bank and they gave me my money back. I was happy with that.

Kenta, no use. I have tried squeezing blood from a stone. Doesn't work

so even as a cop you couldnt' really do anything about this? I am not worried about the money it more so the point i had a party at my house and then the next day my cc company is calling asking it i was useing the card, I just wanted to know which "friend" it was that took it and what reprocusions he/she would face.

No, if there is no video or a witness who has some identifying information there is nothing that can be done.

How do you link the thief with the crime with no evidence? It sucks, but there isn't any way to do something.

If you could figure out what friend it was with enough evidence to charge them, they would face felony charges and most likely be arrested or a warrant issued. Just the act of taking the card from your home is "larceny in a building" which is a felony. Then there is the individual thefts afterward when the car was used.
