Default Changing Spark Plugs?

Is anyone changing the spark plugs anytime soon? I would like to learn how to do it by shadowing. Same with the differential fluid etc.

changing the spark plugs is easy. you have a 00 S, how many miles?
I was going to do my plugs recently and Honda says to change them at 100K. there platinum plugs. i think for the 00 you change them at 60K. anyone agree/disagree? I would love to show you how to do it. I live near the NH border by nashua.

Cool I was wondering about them myself. Since they are still the original ones but I only have 17k miles. I should go and see if they need some tightening. God forbid one backs itself out.

Yep looked up on the manual. Severe Maintainance schedule says 105k miles. Use NGK PFR7G-11S or DENSO PK22PR-L11S

As per manual, Apply a small quantity of anti-seize compound to the plug threads, and screw the plugs into the cylinder head finger tight. Then torque them to 25 N-m (2.5 kgf-m, 18 lbf-ft).

Enjoy!

Yeah I'll probably just check the torque on them for giggles.

MY 00 with about 40K miles. I think I read somewhere that it should be changed at 100K or 7 years whichever comes first. Since the S is now 7 years old, I figure I'll get it done. How much do they cost and can I get them at a local Autozone? Same with the differential fluid? I don't even know when and if I need to replace it. Basically, I bought the car used and it didn't come with a manual either. I think it would be cool if someone with some experience owning and working on their car, if they could help me do an overall spot check and quick lesson of all the essentials and how to's that would be cool. Nashua is about 30 mins from where I live. If you could find some time on a weekend, I could definately drop by and get a few lessons, that would be awesome.

Wow, I never heard about that one. So, is the loosening problem with the original factory spark plugs or the engine block? Will replacing the spark plugs fix this loosening problem. The last thing I want happening is a blown motor!!!

you could call up your local honda dealer service dept with your vin number and ask them if the plug recall has been done - if not let them do it and you'll get free plugs & labor

if it's been done - figure about sixty bucks for a set from the dealer part number is PFR7G-11S

- maybe Scott from Ballistic has some plugs in stock you could call him too BUT i don't think autozone will carry the oem plugs

rear diff - you have a few choices - best for summer driving is LE-607 BUT you can't get this at auto zone either - the other option is Mobil 1 75w90... BE VERY CAREFUL if you buy the rear diff fluid at the dealership as they have been known to give folks the wrong stuff

there's a great DIY thread in the libray from Xviper with pics and everything -

I would definitely get the diff oil changed ASAP with that Mileage. You just don't know if the prior owner did it. And god forbid if they used CRV oil. But then again you would of blown your diff by now if they did use it. Good luck.
