Thumbs up Cat on a leash?

Ever see anyone walking a cat on a leash? I've always thought it was a bit odd, but for folks who don't let their cat out, I guess it works for them.

Yesterday we had lunch at a restaurant in Plymouth, there was a live band performing. On the way out we saw a cat on a leash, and the owner even had a baby stroller for it.

The cat was sitting on the window sill of the restaurant. The windows totally opened to the outside and the band was getting ready to play another set. The owner said the cat just sat there. I can't believe the cat was not spooked by the noise.

So do you think this is kinda weird? Cats, leashes, strollers and a live band?

That is definitely weird... but it wouldn't really surprise me if Steve has a stroller for his cats.

Next time we go that way, we'll let you know. Maybe Gilly can come along.

The restaurant served BBQ, but no where as good as the place in Killington.

Our cat is always on a leash when he's outside, because he is 13 years old and likes to wander.

When we first moved into our house we let him wander without one for about a month until one day we came home and found him "sunning himself" in the middle of the road. Kimmie nearly broke down in tears as we turned the corner cause he likes to lay on his side.

So you are a "keeps them safe" vote...Please tell me he doesn't have a baby stroller

Off topic, did Kimmie's parents make out OK with the flooding? Lakeville got hit hard in some areas.

no self respecting cat would allow himself to be on a leash

Baby stroller, lol no.

Kimmies parents have actually moved away from Freetown, about 6 months ago but my BIL still lives there next door to my FIL's old house that would get water in it year round. I can only imagine what the recent storms have done.

We had a few cats who were leash tolerant. While we didn't walk them and certainly didn't have a stroller for them, they were quite content to be on a leash/lead in the back yard. One of our two now would love to be outside, but he's too squirmy for a leash and will jump the fence to the next yard when he sneaks out. He's spent a couple nights out like that when we couldn't find him. IIRC, the last time he got away, he would up in one neighbor's yard being chased by their dog. He was on the deck looking ot get inside with his much more tolerant dogs quite soon after that!
