There are no ill effects to the motor or any other part of the car by blocking
coolant especially in hot weather?

^ NO!

The reason the coolant goes thru the TB is to keep your throttle from icing up in cold weather.

When its hot it does just the opposite it adds heats and robs power. Hence the TB coolant bypass. If anyone is worried no eed to be its been done on my car for the last 40k or so and over 4 years. No problems at all. the only thing is to check your hoses if you plug them for cracking similar to dry rot on a tire. Or just reroute the hoses all together.

Do it and see what you think.

i just put a connection between the hose that goes into the TB to the hose that goes under the manifold. it doesn't even go into the sensor on the side of the manifold. i drive al year round like this.

So i was bored and went ahead and did this. Took a whole 20 mins to do. all i did was use two way barbed fitting and ran house under manifold. Then removed the bracket where the throttle cable is. simple easy done deal =0) Still rather have the gasket tho.

On a side not as i was looking i had way too much slack in the throttle cable so i tightened that up also. Little better response =0)
