What a surprise. You guys seemed really happy together at the holiday party (am I thinking about the right couple here?). Hey, I hope it wasn't us that caused he to split with you.

And when all else fails, there's always Chapter 94C to dull the senses.

Sorry to hear that Matt. Wendy and I split about 3 years ago but we worked everything out and now we're closer than even before. Whatever you do don't chase her and hound her. If she does come back you want it to be because she wants to... not because you begged.

Take a vaction with a buddy to some place nice like Key West or something. It will take you mind off it for a little while. That's what I did
I couldn't agree more. Best advice given. Steph and I have been together for almost 8 years now. Married for 1.5... We had broken up a couple of times durring that stretch. Once was for over three months. I hung out with my friends and had a great time, I met a few chicks and dated quite a bit. None of them fit the bill like Steph does. I suspect she had similar experience since we ended up married.

Don't sulk and don't chase her. This is the time where friends and hobbies will save your sanity. Also, if I might offer something else... Steph isn't the first woman I had a serious relationship with... I have lost many before, even one I dated for several years like you. In the end, it will all work out like it did for me. At the time of the other break ups though, you couldn't have convinced me of it as it was of course tough. There are others out there, thats for sure.

I am sure you aren't into country music, but there is a song that outlines my point, it's called "unanswered prayers" by Garth Brooks, you should give it a listen. If not to enjoy the musical aspect of it, just to understand what he is saying becuas it so applies.

Keep your head up

And don't get yourself in trouble with the 94C, that will just make your strife worse. At least stay at home with your stash

After 5 yrs of marriage and 8 yrs of being with my husband. I am going through the same thing. It really sucks.

The best thing to do is try to stay busy and keep your mind off it (which is easier said than done).

Keep your chin up but dont wait around, things always work out for the best no matter what happens, we just dont see it that way when we are going through it.
