Default Back roads in NH

We're visiting my sis and brother in law in NH next month. They have a little Mercedes convertible, and we're going to do a bit of top down touring together.

Miranda/RedBullit took Rick and me on some neat back roads outside of Manchester, NH a couple of years ago. We MAY have been somewhere around Bear Brook State Park.

My sis lives just outside of Manchester.Though they may have some idea of where to go, I was wondering if anyone here had any suggestions of some neat back roads to drive? Scott? Miranda? (Where are you anyway?) We don't want to be heading towards any beaches and the kind of traffic you find there. Country roads, most likely heading north or west are fine.

I believe there's a member from Hancock, NH that lurks around here. There are some beautiful backroads in the Hancock, Bennington, Peterborough area. I'm sure he could chime in and recommend some specific roads. Not terribly far from Manchester down 101 either. Good luck and happy driving.

WTF! That's disgusting. Save that plaque for someone else.

BTW, if I was drinking diet coke, right now, it would be coming out of my nose, after seeing the plaque.

You're a sick man.

What about the Kangamangas (SP?) HW? There is some nice backroads through the Crawford Notch and Franconia notch areas as well.

I usually head up 93 through the canyons by what's left of the Old Man on the Mountain, get off at Rt3 (I think that's it) near Canon Mt. and it takes you up to Twin Mountain. Catch 302 East though Crawford Notch (Nice windy road with mountains on both sides) and eventually you'll end up in N. Conway. Great area for shopping and food.

I'm just thinking day trips here...

Have fun!

We're looking day trips, but probably not that far up. Some crusing, some lunch, probably back in her area just after dinner. Any breweries nearby?
