Anyone used that clear plastic over paint?
Hi,
My car is going into the shop and they are repairing and repainting my left quarter panel and front fender. I am thinking about having them apply that 3M plastic over the paint.
Does any have this? Is is good? Does it fade? What about washing?
Thanks in advance,
MR J

I've got it and it's great--sort of.
First off I wouldn't apply it over old paint. if you already have stone chips it's just going to seal them in. But if they're repainting your front end, do it. You'll feel far less paranoid about geting sand blasted on the highway.
A lot also depends on the installer and the kit they use. I've heard good things about the 3m template. Mine is Autobahn, which i'm less thrilled about. It doesn't cover in a number of places where it should and the cut lines are pretty obvious. It also looka a little bit yellow, although it's not suppsoed to. 3m is probably better in that regard as well.
