Porpably 10k, in NY and RI, its called balloon payment....same as lease but the car is registered in your name instead of leasing company that's a low payment...this isn't a very good news for those of us who "purchased" our cars, cause of the residual value on it....meaning the trade in/retail value will drop as well

Hey....I though low lease payments = higher calculated residual

I'm looking at it this way....if you turn it back in to the dealer at the end of the lease, the dealer is going to want to make at least 2500 -3500 on the car right?

That would push the retail price of a 3 year old S2000 with 36,000 miles to what? Wholesale 19860, retail 22500-23000. I think that is actually high.

dealers usually do not buy cars, that come straight off lease, especially cars like our S. they always try to negotiate a deal with in this case HFC, if not Honda will take the car back to the auction and sell it...unless the car has a lot less miles on it and the condition is superb....the more you will pay for the car, the longer you are holding on to it...hones truth, myself I would never buy an off lease car...unless you are leasing the car first and then buy it at the end....then its just going to cost you more the it should..either way...leasing is not for me, can't do anything with the car, always have to pay attention to what you do, and then you have to turn it in....come out empty handed....

in this case...the lease option is awesome...but you have to come in with the $2400 plus about $5-600 to cover the taxes and what not..still a good deal on car like that.
