*grumble* tourist season... *grumble*
Okay, I know I am whining, but I can't help it. I drove about 80 miles today around my usual VT haunts... roads that are normally nice and open, well-paved, posted at 50... unfortunately it is tourist season and I have a couple hints I would've loved to pass on to all the drivers I was stuck behind today and I just have to vent.
#1 - 50 mph zones are not meant to be driven at 30mph. In fact many people consider 50 mph zones to actually read as 60mph or even 70mph...
#2 - You're in a moving vehicle that weighs at least a ton... watch the road instead of the leaves. If you must look at the leaves, then stop the damn car!
#3 - If you must look at the leaves and cannot stop the car, at least swurve off the road AWAY from oncoming cars instead of towards traffic. Kill yourself only, instead of taking others with you.
#4 - If you do stop the car to take pictures, point or otherwise put life on pause - try not to use the middle of the road. In fact, if you and your two car-buddy-friends stop, do not block both lanes of traffic, get out of the car, setup a tripod and take a group shot while making other cars wait for you.
#5 - Please realize that people who live in VT have already seen these sites, and while leaf-season is a short-time of the year it will wait an extra few minutes while you find a nice parking-spot, wait for traffic, and overall be courteous of others.
