Default suspension question

I have a set of jic fl tar. The cylinder is all the way down. Is there a way I can raise the cylinder and lower the spring seats and still have a pre load on the coils? I'm trying to lower my car more without it bouncing around. Thanks, any help is appreciated.

You appear to be thinking preload is when the spring is not loose in its perch when the suspension is unloaded. If so then preload is not what you think it is.

"Preload" is a way to position the dampers piston within the damper housing to give it enough clearance so that under normal operation (load) it does not slam in to the ends of the damper housing... which is a sure fire way to damage & destroy the damper.

So, moving the position of the damper body does not alter the dampers "preload", where as altering the position of the spring perch does.

thanks for the clarification. so should i raise the damper piston because its all the way down? i just wanted to lower my car more but that would mean i would have to have the weight of the car on the springs to get my desired ride height but doing so will ride like crap.
