jp...do you know if that is all they check here in Vegas? Im wondering if Im going to have to put my stock cat back on before my smog test for registration. I have no CELs and I thought they just checked for CELs?!

Thanks,

Ryan

All they do is plug in the scanner and see if you make smoke.
No pending codes + no smoke = pass.

yeah, alot of the f-body guys with heads, huge cams, no cats, long tube headers pass with flying colors. just make sure you don't have any CELs and you're golden.

Yep, as long as you have no CEL's (and all the monitors have run...you can't just reset the light and go test) then you're fine. Like Ray said, they plug in to the OBD2 port under the dash and that's it.

Good deal. I have no CEL from the mechanical O2 simulator. I was just hoping that I wouldnt have to take off the cat just for the emissions test.

Call me crazy, but how does someone own a turbo S2000 and only be a registered "guest" to this site for 6 days? I may be reading too much into it, but this just screams "officer of the law."

What color and year is your S2000? I had a friend that swore that he worked with a turboed s2k and I didnt believe him. I agree that it is a little fishy about only being on here a few days. What color is your car? Thanks!
