It's actually a good idea to know whether or not you can live on the salary before going through the hassle of applying, interviewing, etc.

To the OP.
You could live well off in Nevada with 50k. You should give Northern Nevada a look too. Not as hot.

i just moved out here from pa if u drive a moving truck u cant go across hoover dam and the detour is retarded so just try to eenter vegas from north east vegas thats my recomendation lol but loving it here already

to the OP, it depends on where you're coming from. If the standard of living is cheaper from where you currently live is expensive (NY, LA) then vegas is right around the middle.

on 50k, very comfortable. Though, I wouldn't be too quick to buy a home..work a while, live a while...see how stable your job is..etc...don't worry house prices here aren't going up anytime soon lol...and it's always a pita if you do end up having to sell the home for any reason.
