Default Nevada: Want to legally display one license plate?

I came across this piece of legislation being offered during this session:

SB62

This Bill will let the DMV issue only ONE license plate instead of two. Current Nevada law requires you to display both plates if your car (like the S2K) came from the factory with the ability to mount a plate on the front. This bill will eliminate that requirement.

I think this Bill exists for budgetary reasons (letting the DMV issue half as many plates), but of course we only care about the front plates making our cars ugly and impeding airflow.

Put "SB62" in the "Select Bill" box, check the "For" button next to "Your View", and leave a comment if you want. The more support we drum up for this, the better chance it has to pass!

EDIT: See my post below for information on SB61, a bill which would introduce pilot programs to test red light cameras in Nevada. Tell your law makers what you think of that bullshit!

Good link, I voted. I hope they don't find out that I'm not a citizen.

Great guys, thanks for submitting your opinion. If anyone here reads other car forums with Nevada readers, feel free to post the above link there too. The more people we get, the better.

Something I've been pondering about... if this bill were to be passed doesn't something have to be done about stop light cameras too? Pictures taken by the cameras need to clearly show the front license plate and the driver in order to ticket the offenders, right? I got that from California's laws, but I'm pretty sure it would be the same here.

It would be nice, though, if the bill does happen to get passed.

There are no redlight cameras in Nevada. This isn't the nanny state (yet) despite what people moving here from Kommiefornia would like it to be.
